This study aims to determine the extent of the impact of current ecosystem changes so that it can provide guidance related to the development plan for the Spermonde Islands maritime region based on three aspects, namely: marine and fishery resources, marine conservation, and human resources. The method used in this study is aqualitative descriptive method. Data sources were obtained through literature studies on reviews and policies, as well as interviews with the head of the Research and Advocacy Department of Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (Walhi) South Sulawesi. The results of the study show that there is a need to review the South Sulawesi Regional Government regulations regarding RZWPK3, Spatial Planning and regulations related to the implementation of activities in coastal areas. In addition, sand mining activitiesin the coastal areas of the Spermonde Islands have both positive and negative impacts. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that (1) the fishing area ecosystem has changed drastically, (2) there have been changes in activities and fishing patterns, (3) economic difficulties have caused some fishing families to leave the island, and (4) the destruction of the environmental ecosystem is marked by the occurrence of tidal flooding.
