This study aims to analyze the acoustic performance of residential buildings and their surroundings through simulation and reverberation time measurements. Increased noise levels resulting from technological advances in the transportation sector and urbanization have made acoustic comfort an important aspect of residential design. Each room in a house has different acoustic characteristics, influenced by the materials used and the shape of the room. Simulation results show variations in sound types, such as direct sound, useful sound, echo, reverberation, and masked sound, which occur according to the physical conditions of the space and the position of the sound source. Changes in building materials, particularly in wall elements, significantly impact improvements in reverberation time and the achievement of ideal acoustic standards, which range between 0.6 and 0.8 seconds. At the environmental scale, building massing influences sound propagation patterns, where the distance between buildings and the presence of obstacles also determine the types of sound produced.
